More about 20th April

This project consists of an archive formed by various Spanish newspapers that celebrated Hitler’s birthday on its cover during the late 30s and early 40s. These headers still run today.

Directly connected to this archive, a facsimile edition of the Baleares newspaper of April 21, 1942, now named dBalears,  published on its cover the birthday celebration of Hitler the day before, newspaper of 21 April 2010. In both projects the newspaper acts as a bridge that joins two points in time. It functions as a link between the past of the country’s political history and present, when Franco’s ideological heritage is claimed by a wide spectrum of Spanish society.
