Sobre la alfombra (On the Carpet)

To carry out this project, children that live in a state of social and economic vulnerability, specifically children that do not attend school and work or live on the streets of the city of Puebla, Mexico (city with some of the highest high school desertion in Mexico) were offered to exchange their old clothes with new ones.

This material was collected in collaboration with a group of students and teachers of the Bauhaus University and a group of parents from the primary school Enrique Rebsamen where knitting groups were configured. This manual activity derived in a reflection on the situation found in this population and established the process to include what has been excluded.

I look to create a space for reflection and redefine the identity of a group of people who, given the ideas of progress, development and mobility that govern contemporary societies, have been expulsed from it.
