The city of Lima entered into its 477th year of existence as a capital on the 18th of January 2012. LiMAC celebrates this event with the renovation of its website and presents new temporary exhibitions, a revision of its permanent exhibitions, the access to archives, publications, library and its online shop.
Visitors are invited to enter Phantom Limb, a group show based on the prosthetic aspects of cities, La Dernière-garde, a solo exhibition of Miki Aguirre’s press paintings, Bitter Huayco, the presentation of the graphic works on immigration in the United States by Naylamp, Rest in Press, a compilation of art works that elaborated themselves from the daily printed press, Active Poster, an overview of political posters from the late 70´s up to anti-globalization movements, Occupied Walls, pictures of squatted houses from around the world and The Elo Khan Donation, a new collection of contemporary works received by the museum.
Li-MAC.org serves as a platform for research and exhibition of contemporary art works and contextualization of other sources of creation. It conserves and gives access to the photographic registration of works with simple navigation tools (tags, zooms, flipbooks).
