Rogelio López Cuenca ( Málaga, 1959)

Poet and visual artist, his work revolves around the construction of identities, the analysis of mass media and cultural criticism; ongoing work through publications, courses, workshops, exhibitions, urban interventions in public spaces, on the TV or Internet (http://www.malagana.com), using its own procedures for both the visual arts and literature or social sciences.

He participated in the Biennial of Contemporary Art, Johannesburg (South Africa, 1994), Manifesta 1 (Rotterdam, Netherlands, 1996 ), Lima (Peru , 2002), Sao Paulo (Brazil, 2002), Istanbul (Turkey, 2003) , Guatemala (2012) and received the awards Iniciarte (Junta de Andalucía, 2008), Francisco de Goya (Villa de Madrid, 2002), the Public (South Channel Broadcasting, 2001), Andalusia prize of Plastic Arts (1992) and the Eye award critical of Art (National Radio of Spain, 1992).

He taught courses and conferences and led workshops in the schools of Fine Arts from the universities of Barcelona, Bogotá, Complutense of Madrid, Cuenca, Chile, Basque, Rome – Sapienza, Salamanca, Sevilla, South Florida or UNAM (Mexico ), in Cultural Center of Spain in La Paz, Lima, Montevideo and Mexico, the Andalusian Centre of Contemporary Art, the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona, ​​Casa Arabic (Madrid), Arteleku (San Sebastian), the Institute of Aesthetics and Art Theory, Madrid, and the Department of Behavioral Art of Havana, among others.

Since the late 90s has been working on joint projects related to the city, public art criticism, subaltern history and memories.
