More about (R)egal I (Shelf / whatever)
(R)egal I is a container of containers where the the sculptural problematic of mobility and stillness is alluded to (a sketch of the sculpture of a crucifixion by Anton Hannak is framed along a drawing of the sculpture Walking Man by Fritz Wortuba). It is within the limits and structures of space that stillness and movement meet. More precisely, (R)egal I, refers to the habitat of animals that live in modern cities. As if in a prehistoric cave with paintings of animals we can see a spray painted cat, dog, mice and rat. In one space of the shelf, a box of powdered milk, most likely found in human garbage, has been eaten by a rat. There are two holes, that might have been eaten out to go through. In that same space, a postacrd of Saint Francis preaching to the wolf and another of a Giotto painting where Saint Francis talks to the birds seem to make the viewer convers with a can of Russian Squid that sits still in the other space ontop of some frames.
