More about Protected monuments
During the Spanish Civil War (1936-39) Madrid was bombed continuously. His heritage was protected with special constructions (recreated in this work by Fernando Sánchez Castillo). For three years, the physiognomy of the whole city changed by these structures that were made with this forms for the first time in history. A Baroque facade was covered with an aspect of contemporary constructions. All technicians and architects were jailed or killed after the war. Keeping track of the documentation of this period is very difficult and hampered by current politicians bribed by those who won the war.
