Treaty of Madrid commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of the treaty signed between General Francisco Franco and the President of the United States of America, Dwight D. Eisenhower. This treaty marked Spain’s acceptance within the UN, the delivery of foodstuffs (mainly powdered milk) and the establishment of numerous American army bases on Spanish territory.
