More about Open Circuits

The images contained in the Hotel´s closed loop system have been moved on the outside of the building’s façade so to reflect the ongoing activity within the building. Security systems are monitoring tools that produce the information of a private nature and that are used to control laboral activities within the hotel. In this regard, this exercise is to convert private information into the public sphere so that the now traditional debate between public and private would become transparent as well as the security mechanisms of image control. For “Open Circuits” the images produced by CCTV cameras are diverted and projected onto the glass surface of the facade so that the building is converted <in itself> as a large safety monitor circuit.
