More about Festival Club

Festival Club was a big complex with two stages, an open-air restaurant and a little rodeo for bulls, located on a hillside in San José, Ibiza. The business went bankrupt in only five years. Its 36 years of abandonment was the scene of clandestine raves in the 80s and early 90s; now nature and rubble crowd the area. For this project the DJ Alfredo Fiorito – one of the leaders of Ibiza’s nightclubs in the 80s – was invited to perform a set of balearic and house music in the ruinous scenery of Festival Club. The session was recorded recalling the raves that resounded in this space, but this time with nobody there. The sound was recorded with two microphones placed at both sides of the dilapidated stands. Besides the video, the project also includes photography taken at the Festival Club and documentation. IDA

Project produced with the support of the Prize Generaciones 2013.
