More about Idea

This project is developed through the history of the unfinished structure of the Ideas Nightclub, which is located on San Antonio’s seafront in Ibiza. Once the construction had begun in 1987, the owner did not obtain the building licence and the project was cancelled. Its skeleton became part of the landscape from April 2011, when the council proceeded with its demolition. The wall around the ruin, whose fragments are still there, belong to one of the first open air nightclubs on the island, Playboy. Through reproductions, collages and documentation I made a route around this structure, which is a reflection of the ghosts the tourism industry leaves behind. IDA

Project produced with the Grant of Artistic Production Comunidad de Madrid and with the support of Bilbao Arte Foundation and Casal Solleric, Palma de Mallorca.
