More about XX XIX XXI

This work creates a dialogue with images of ships and shipwrecks found in old books and on the Internet. Some of the photographs are taken from a book from 19th century (‘The Wanderer’ by John Mastefield) which is about the history of a vessel. The photographs from the 20th century were found in a book from Brno (Czech Republic) about ‘The Battle in the Atlantic Ocean’ during the Second World War. Images that make reference to the 21st century have been extracted from Jean Luc Godard’s film ´Film Socialisme´ and from Google Images of the Costa Concordia shipwreck (13/01/2012).

This project was produced with the support of the Prize Circuitos of Fine Arts 2012 of the Comunidad de Madrid.
