Pier Stockholm (Lima, 1977)

Studied at ECA-USP in Sao Paulo and is represented by the Brazilian gallery Casa Triângulo. Stockholm has exhibited in the cities of Paço das Artes and Maria Antonia. He currently lives between Sao Paulo and Lima. The television series from the 80’s Manimal tells the story of a police officer who transformed himself into animals whenever he faced danger. Manimal would beat the bad guys and save the girl. Now Manimal is the title of a project for Pier Stockholm. Using diverse media, in a dramatic sometimes absurd style, Stockholm discovers our hidden animal instinct. A precise drawing struggling between rationality and instinct, between the adult and the child, between what is animal and what is social.
