More about Stories from Paradise

The photographic series Stories of Paradise had for starting point the collections of Puebla´s Natural History Museum, before the imminence of its closure in 2011. Pinzon´s strategy is to build scenes that combine characters with elements of popular culture and display devices such as museums dioramas, stuffed animals as well as references and citations of art history. His images reveal the moralizing, exoticizing and colonizer character of the museum, and notions such as entertainment, high and low culture, where dioramas are displayed with their educational role.
